[One would think a new mission and new location would call for newer weather, but alas...Anora has grown awfully weary of the rain. And this new place, London, where people speak a familiar tongue but everything else still feels foreign, is as cold and as wet as Exsilium.
Her hair is slick from the past rainfall, and though the downpour has let up to a faint mist she pulls her cloak tighter around her and adjusts its hood, taking care not to drag her skirts through the wet. The women's attire here is familiar, long skirts and pinching corsets and tight shoes that make it unbearable to walk, so of course Anora had no difficulty blending in. But after seeing Chloe in menswear she wonders if her friend had the better idea.
She's been trailing behind Chloe for awhile, but now, when the woman stops in front of a store with a childlike expression, Anora finally decides to speak up, her voice low as she comes to stand next to her, shoulder brushing against hers.]
See anything you like?
[There's a veiled "hope you're not planning on starting any trouble" in her tone.]
[The nudge is welcome, as is the company. Chloe might complain about being smothered by the company of some, but Anora is a friend set far from that line.
So when she turns to catch sight of the slight, regal thing standing beside her, Chloe cracks a wide, easy grin.]
Maybe. It's all a bit flashy for my tastes.
[Blatant lie? Blatant lie.] What about you, Sunshine? This sort of thing is right up your alley.

[She quirks a well-groomed eyebrow at her blatant lie, smirking mildly as she looks from Chloe back to the window. Absentmindedly she fiddles with a necklace she wears at her throat, the one she had found in the weapons room of the Hold.
Anora has an appreciation for jewelry as any woman would, but even as a queen dressed in the finest of finery she still has the mentality of a tomboy; a youth of seven or eight dirtying her skirts and scraping her knees.
But that's a facet of herself that she'll keep to herself.]
I don't recall ever being the sort for flashy jewelry myself.
[Once more, she eyes her friend, smile growing humoured.]
[Probably the easiest way for Chloe to relate to her, really. Though there is a part of her that would have loved a life of the opposite as well. Something small and cut off that doesn't often slip up to the surface given the sort of company that she keeps.
Plus France sort of killed that idea, anyway.
Chloe's shoulders lift in the most casual shrug known to mankind.]
Well if you're not much for show, your majesty, what sort of purchase should I be looking to make?
IT'S BEEN TOO LONG

Though I could use a new pair of earrings.
