"You know, I never could pinpoint why shootouts always seemed so boring," Garrus mutters from behind his scope, the side of his rifle jammed up against one of the ship's lopsided support beams and wedged in on a seam to act as a sort of makeshift tripod. His shots are clean, trail off in short, controlled bursts to slip past the white hot streaks of enemy fire the second it crops up.
The crouched silhouette of a Geth Sniper snaps back over itself and tumbles down through the corridor as he pulls back to eject yet another spent thermal clip. "Now I get it: why waste time with cover when we could just be throwing ourselves at their faces?"
Shifting close to the edge of the drop, she throws Garrus a sidelong look. There's a distinct grin creeping there at the edge of her mouth. "Next time you can go first then," she says (which is either a joke or it isn't but there's a reason she doesn't spend her free time jumping off high ledges).
She counts, rolling into the pattern of return fire like stepping into a familiar-- well. She's never been good at dancing, so maybe it's better to just get it over with. With a nod to Thane, Shepard makes her jump down toward the next hatch.
"That is regularly our battle plan." Dryly quiet as he waits for Shepard's move. It comes and he throws up the field as she jumps, keeps it close enough around her that he can slow her descent enough to give her a clear and easy landing. Or as clear and easy as is capable on that ledge.
A nod to Garrus once he is sure Shepard has made it safely down and there is room for them all. "When you have an opening." His angle is not good for cover fire, but he can provide a little here and there.
